### THE SYMPTOM
The client reported a sudden driveability warning light on the instrument cluster accompanied by a rough idle and severe loss of power when accelerating.
### THE DIAGNOSIS
Our team connected the vehicle to our factory-linked BMW ISTA+ diagnostic interface. We extracted active fault code "130308 - VANOS solenoid valve, exhaust: position monitoring." Visual physical tracing revealed oil seepage inside the solenoid electrical harness, causing a short in the exhaust-cam actuator network.
### THE RESOLUTION
1. Disassembled the engine beauty cover and cleared adjacent hardware blocks.
2. Extracted the fouled Vanos actuator solenoid valves.
3. Cleaned the timing sensor port and flushed electrical connection terminals with industrial solvent.
4. Installed brand-new OEM BMW Exhaust Vanos solenoids.
5. Performed a digital system adaptation reset and test-drove the vehicle for 15km. High-idle sweeps returned to absolute factory specifications.
